Estate Planning

Establishing estate planning documents can prepare a family for situations that could arise in the future, namely situations related to incapacity. These documents help eliminate the need for a court-ordered conservatorship and/or guardianship.

Elder Law

Elder law addresses the legal issues faced by the elderly. As a person ages, they become increasingly entangled with government programs, legal, and financial issues. Those needs can range from property management, planning for incapacity through the use of power of attorneys and advance directives, Medicaid planning, and estate planning.

A trust controls your assets while you are alive and will remain valid beyond your death. One of the advantages of a trust is that it avoids the lengthy and costly Probate process.

After a loved one dies, some type of estate administration may be necessary to pass their assets to their loved ones. This is true whether or not they had a will or trust. We help families who have experienced the loss of a loved one with the probate or trust administration process.

Estate Planning, Living Trust, Power Of Attorney, Wills

We cannot over-emphasize the importance of early estate planning. People of all ages need to have certain basic tools in place. Estate planning includes wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, living wills and health care powers of attorney, and coordinating property ownership and beneficiary designations with the overall plan. Since our focus is limited to estate planning and elder law, our lawyers analyze and consider issues that other attorney who dabble in the field don’t even recognize.

I help clients preserve their wealth and achieve their long-term financial goas. I work closely with clients’ financial advisors to make sure their estate plan and their financial plan are corrdinated and meet the clients’ goals.

My firm cares about the welfare of your pets. Your beloved pets need to be protected in the event you are no longer there to take care of them. Estate planning and implementing a Pet’s Trust can ensure that your pets are provided for after your death.

Elder Law, Tax Planning, Medicaid Planning, Veteran's Benefits

My Firm can help anyone concerned about an older adult in Arkansas. I will help you find the right care for your loved one without losing all of your money to a nursing home. With respect to paying for long-term care, there is a terrible gap between what the law actually is and what people believe the law to be. Most people do not take the time to consult a specialist in this area. Instead, they listen to half-truths and myths and believe there is no hope if a family member enters a nursing home.

I provide peace of mind and security and show people how to save tens of thousands of dollars – or more – with the proper planning. My job as elder law attorney is to make sure you and your loved ones will be protected when you or they can no longer take care of themselves. Elder law includes estate and tax planning, nursing home asset protection, planning for incapacity, Medicaid planning, Veterans’ Benefits, long-term care insurance issues and other health care matters and planning.

There is much written about the estate settlement process and probate. The reality is that much of the information given to consumers is misleading or simply false. The fact is that your experience with what happens when a loved one dies has more to do with the lawyer you hire to help you than any other factor. Choose the wrong lawyer and your experience will be a time-consuming, expensive nightmare.

Tamra Cochran takes great pride in simplifying the estate settlement and probate process so that you can relax knowing things are being handled properly. By simplifying the process, we can also save you time and money. My Firm assists with all aspects of estate and trust settlement and probate.

The unfortunate truth is that many older adults have long periods toward the end of life when they’re not able to make decisions for themselves, due to Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, a stroke, an accident, or some other serious medical condition. My Firm assists the client and his or her family with contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings, Will and Trust reformations, and Will and Trust disputes, and any other needs they may have.
